Chalets Lanaudière is proud to be the second company in Quebec to earn Biosphere Certification. This certification marks the beginning of a structured approach to sustainability, prioritizing the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In 2021, this sustainability management and certification system was recognized as the world's best sustainability certification tool in a report entitled *Recommendations on Tools and Certifications for In-Depth Research*, prepared by the Université de Sherbrooke in Canada, in collaboration with Tourisme Durable Québec.

Sustainability at the heart of future decisions

Chalets Lanaudière has chosen to make sustainability a central consideration in its planning and future decisions.

Linda Corbeil, Director of Operations at Chalets Lanaudière, explains:

What is Biosphere Certification?

The Biosphere system was established in 1997 by the Responsible Tourism Institute (RTI), bringing together academics, industry professionals and sustainability experts under a memorandum of understanding with UNESCO.

Its purpose is to make United Nations sustainability guidelines easier to understand and apply, helping organizations identify what actions to take, how to implement them and how to measure their progress toward lifestyles and business models aligned with global sustainability principles and goals.
